The Corfu Beaches You Need to Visit

Of all the Greek islands, Corfu has some of the very best beaches and scenery. From dramatic, plunging cliffs to pure, crystal waters, Corfu has more than its fair share of stunning, unforgettable beaches.

Some are ideal for trying out water sports like jet skiing, while others are smaller and more hidden away, making them ideal for getting away and appreciating the breath-taking surroundings. Whatever your preference, Corfu has the beach that you want.

Best of all, the majority of beaches are close to fabulous restaurants and bars when you’ve had enough sun and need to retire for a while.

Loggas

Sitting about three or so miles west of the town of Sidari and right on the northwest end of Corfu is Loggas. With many of the best Corfu villas situated in the area, it’s the ideal place to visit if you love dramatic natural surroundings and mind-blowing views.

Located at the bottom of a staircase that cuts through the rock of the cliff face, Loggas is popular with visitors and locals alike as the perfect place to watch a late sunset. Loggas isn’t about providing a tourist venue with things like sunbeds and other amenities, so it’s a good idea to pack some food if you’re planning on eating – although you could always retire to some of the nearby restaurants and bars. A visit to Loggas is about taking in the raw, unadulterated beauty of Corfu, and there are few better places to do just that.

Acharavi

More than 8km long, Acharavi is a different kind of beach from Loggas. Rather than focusing on just the natural surroundings, Acharavi has a number of charming tavernas close by, and the vast, expansive beach and waters make it the ideal place to do a little snorkelling or other water sports.

As you might expect, the waters around Acharavi are crystal clear, and the beach itself is immaculate. It might be a little more tourist-focused than other beaches, but don’t let that deter you from making the trip from the Corfu villas that are close by to the beach. It’s a beautiful place, and there’s a reason Acharavi is popular with both locals and visitors to the island.

Agios Stefanos

Even though it’s a large beach replete with golden sands, Agios Stefanos is more of a hidden gem than a popular spot, and that’s great if you want some time to take in your surroundings.

Ideally, you’ll want to make the trip from the large villas in Corfu that you can find via car, as Agios Stefanos is a little more secluded than other, more popular beaches. But don’t let the fact that it’s quiet fool you into thinking this beach isn’t special, because that simply isn’t the case. It is, perhaps, the quintessential Corfu beach, with dramatic natural scenery as its backdrop and shallow, azure waters giving way to deeper waters further out from the beach. It’s beautiful, it’s secluded, and it might just turn out to be your favourite beach on the island.
